The SAFTV Studio

On Location:"The Church".... SAFTV Television Studio's

The church has been converted into a multi-media television environment.
This means it has been separated into specific production areas including:

Editing Room

Production and Equipment Room

Studio Set

Production Board Room

The Classroom (the Boardroom)

Each student takes a seat at the SAFTV boardroom table.
Here they will have the opportunity to correlate ideas with
other students and conceptualize television production values.

This environment allows each student to relax and take in knowledge.
Each student has their own hard copy manual to work from at the table.

Why do we use a Board Room Table?
This is very important !
The whole idea behind SAFTV is to put the student in the environment of
a Television Production Company environment.
A professional production company will always have a similar set-up to
discuss procedures with crews in the production process.

The Stage

This is the arena for both students and lecturers to demonstrate
production techniques and present video presentations of real situations
through our extensive multimedia resources.

The Production Sets

Television Production Sets (flats) have been professionally installed
by Big City productions ( http://www.bigcity.net.au/).

These allow Students to experience the real true atmosphere of a Television
studio.

This includes multi-camera setups under professional studio lighting.

These sets are also used for live and pre-recorded television production
facilities for the top-rating EWTV on Foxtel.

The SAFTV studios display the illusion of real studios, they are not closed of rooms
but rather many sets, dividing areas of the studio. Again, simulating a true
Production on-set design.

The Touchdown

This facility was developed to allow students access to high speed internet
access and computer systems.

Research, Production, Scripts and Emails are the primary uses of this
area. This area is also available for students to simply surf the web
and search for new ideas for stories. The whole of SAFTV is actually
a wireless hot spot at 28000 kbs making it one of Sydney's fastest internet
access points. The availability of a wireless point makes it possible
for scriptwriters, producers and presenters to also use the internet
with their own laptops at Lightning speeds.

Our students have to produce their own stories, (as in a production Company).
These facilities are here to research your stories and communicate within Networks in order to carry off your story.

The Green Room

This is an area for students to relax and sit back and have a break
while pondering new concepts. It also allows parents and friends to
observe. Students and guests have filtered water facilities and access
to a tea or coffee. The green room is common in the television industry
and we have chosen to include it in the make up of SAFTV, adding to
the TV atmosphere. (like TV stations our Green Room is definitely not Green)

The Kitchen

Students are invited to use these facilities, which include fridge and
washing facilities coffee, tea and complementary snacks and nibbles.

The Edit Suite

This area is an integral part of SAFTV production's. EWTV, ( the top
rating TV show on Foxtel), is edited here along with student showreels
and other film and television productions. This facility incorporates
state of the art computer non-linear editing suites. Here students can
take part and observe the process of The Television Edit Suite. This
area is important to help students understand the importance of final
production values of any television or film production.

The Reception

Our front of house area is where we greet clients, students and guests,
Here you can collect brochures, or book appointments to meet the tutors
for any more information. We accept all electronic banking facilities
Amex, Visa and MasterCard.

The Church

This overall environment is an open air set. It allows students to relax
in a large open air environment. We believe this setting to be the perfect
learning area ... we are sure you will experience the difference once
you enter the space.

Private Tutor Offices

Once students get in the church they can visit Private Tutor Offices and have a meeting or discuss there programs in a private environment.

Transport

Redfern and Erskineville train stations are within walking distance with routes along main roads.

Bus stop at the front door of the building. We are also located on a traffic route to the airport and have many a taxi traveling up Mitchell Road.
